• Planned Improvement: Five-lane widening
• Length of Project: 0.7 miles 
• Estimated Cost: $10.9 million

 Justification

• Traffic Volume: 31,500 vehicles per day; expected to increase to 46,800 vehicles per day by 2022
• Traffic Flow: Heavily congested area that is targeted for additional commercial development

Purpose

• To provide additional roadway capacity and improve traffic operations
• To connect the planned SC Highway 51 widening in North Carolina and provide South Carolina commuters an acceptable alternative route to Pineville

Planned Improvements

• Upgrade Springhill Farm Road to a five-lane urban section including a center turn lane with curb and gutter
• Install sidewalks
